Who is God? The one who answers of course. He’s proved himself to people just like you.
God has always proved himself to people. In the time of what is termed the Old Testament He directly spoke to individuals. In the Gospel period he proved himself to us through Jesus Christ. Today, God proves himself through the Holy Spirit experience.
What is the Holy Spirit experience?
So, what is the Holy Spirit experience? I’m glad you asked. God provides proof of His presence in your life through the Holy Spirit experience. It’s accompanied by a tangible, miraculous, sign. It’s your personal revealing. It’s the reason Jesus came to earth.
In the bible, the Holy Spirit is referred to in a number of ways: Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Spirit of God, and Spirit of Christ are all terms used to describe God’s Spirit that He sends to the world to live inside those who believe and follow Him.
The best explanation is the experience itself, which leaves no need for an explanation. To receive God’s Holy Spirit, the experience in the Bible, is described as being with ‘power’ and ‘deep conviction’ (1 Thessalonians 1:5). Nothing less. That is, when you receive the Holy Spirit, you will KNOW it.
The Prophets saw the Holy Spirit coming
I will pour out my Spirit on all people (Joel 2:28).
I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire – John the Baptist (Matthew 3:11).
Jesus taught that the Holy Spirit would come
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit (John 3:5).
For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5).
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you (John 14:16-17).
Peter recognised that our time is the time of the Holy Spirit

Should you be filled with the Holy Spirit?

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new – Paul (2 Cor 5:17).
How do I receive this experience?
Receiving the Holy Spirit was the common experience of all members of the Church described in the Bible. The account of the first time the Holy Spirit was poured out, is in Acts in the Bible:
When the people heard this [referring to Peter’s identification of the coming of the Holy Spirit], they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:37-39).
Yes, it is that simple. An act of faith and obedience that is as simple as repenting, being baptised by full immersion in water, and God will do the rest!
Does it actually matter?
And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ (Romans 8:9).
As it happens, it does matter. A lot.
What is the Holy Spirit experience, and why is it imperative?
The world of religion and theology is full of alternatives, but it’s not wise to argue with Jesus. The way is narrow and prescriptive, but not exclusive. God’s will is to reconnect with you personally, not through religion or an organisation, but directly with you as an individual.
