Get comfortable and private, and think about who you are: that your Creator sent His Son Jesus to die for you, that He rose again to be with His Father, and that the perfect gift of the Holy Spirit is yours to receive right here, right now in front of your screen.
Say ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Praise the Lord’ or something similar, over and over (this is just a way to help you focus). Be sincere, full of intent, thinking about the Lord – His grace; His pledge to change your life; the promise of salvation.
Let your tongue take its course. Let the Spirit of God come close. You’ll feel your tongue starting to change as you continue to praise Him – don’t hold back. Let the Holy Spirit take over! Let the miracle of speaking in tongues commence in you.
I’ve seen hundreds of people receive the Holy Spirit all over the world. Some people will begin to speak in tongues very quickly because they’re truly ready, and some take a little longer. The Lord fills you with the Holy Spirit when the time is right, and you’ll know He has! Don’t give up, be patient, and let the promise of God, the Holy Spirit, come into your life.
