As in the days of Noah – the Message from the Ark
What did Jesus mean when he said “but as the days of Noah, so shall the coming of the Son of man be”. Matthew 24:37. As we read on it is clear that Jesus was telling us that the characteristics of Noah’s day will be similar to those of the time that Jesus Christ will return. “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”. Matthew 24:38-39.
SO WHAT WAS THE SCENE IN THE DAYS OF NOAH?
In Genesis 6, we read that in Noah’s day there was corruption, violence, immorality and that the imagination of man’s heart was evil (opposed to God’s ways). While Noah and his family were building the ark everyone else was just getting on with life in complete and willing ignorance to what was going to happen. No doubt there was outright rejection of the warning Noah and his family were giving them of God’s pending judgement if they did not change their ways. All these things are evident today. There are those that are willingly ignorant, those that reject the word, and those that are sounding the warning.
The Bible record goes on to tell us why Noah was chosen by God and was saved from His judgement. Noah was just and righteous in his generation; meaning he followed God’s ways and so stood out. (Gen 6:22; 7:1) The Bible also tells us Noah was a preacher of righteousness and obeyed God’s word without question. (2 Peter 2:5) By believing and following God, Noah saved himself and his household (Heb11:7). If you want to be like Noah and be counted worthy by God when Jesus Christ returns, then message us today or checkout our website (found in our about tab) for more information.
PS: The flood didn’t cover the whole planet so if you want to know more about that, we’d also love to hear from you 😀
